Inexcusable Hiatus

It's been more than a few months since I have last posted anything. Not for a lack of working just that I haven't gotten to do any new photography work and I haven't produced that many videos recently. That being said. Here are two new videos I have been working on. The first is a video I created for an event at my university call 'The Tunnel of Oppression' I was a little nervous about where we were going with it but it turned out quite all right.

Keeping with my school's recent obsession with privacy I produced a short primer on privacy in public.

Octopus Jones

I was going to make a soundslide but instead decided to make the slideshow in Final Cut. This the first time I have done this in a while. The audio has some issues, the biggest being that I had to cut out a minute 30 to get it to fit the pictures.

Paint Can Pinhole

Last Friday I attended a workshop by Sam Wang at Coastal Carolina University. At the workshop we constructed paint can pinhole. They tended to be superwide and made wider depending on the length of paper used. The curvature is due to the can being round. I am most fond of the ghostly images from the handheld canhole photos.

These were taken over the course of two days. The first set were taken on the way to and at Staten Island. The photo with exit in it is when you are leaving the Staten Island Ferry Terminal as well as the last photo in the set that is in New York. The second set is in Washington, DC.

Final Assignment

This was the final product of the eight week program. The main problems were the man on the street interviews. The directions they looked well being filmed vs. their placement in the frame. And the audio. The audio was far to crunchy. Along with the stand up.

PS: that is some horrific compression. Mpg-4. Need to play with it more.

These were taken at a demonstration showing solidarity with Georgia. Many of these people had family back in Georgia. The demonstration started at the United Nations Building in New York City. Demonstrators marched to the local Russian Consulate.
